- From Houston: Take I-10 East approximately 140 miles to Louisiana. Once in Louisiana, proceed approximately 58
miles to Exit 33. Turn left (north) onto US-171 and travel approximately 45 miles toward De Ridder. Just
outside De Ridder, turn right onto Hwy 112 east. Proceed for approximately 10 miles and split left (north) onto
Hwy 399. Continue north on 399 until you reach the intersection of SR-10 (Pitkin Hwy) in Cravens. Continue
straight across the intersection and you are now on Gravel Hill Church Road. Once heading north on Gravel Hill
Church Road, continue straight until it turns to dirt and simply becomes "Pit Road". It is 2.8 miles
from SR-10 to the riding area entrance on the right.
- From Austin: Take US 290 East to the NW corner of Houston. Exit right (south) onto Beltway 8. Proceed
South until you reach the I-10 exit and turn left (east). Once on I-10 east, follow the Houston directions above.
- From Dallas: Take I-20 East approximately 175 miles into Louisiana. Just outside Shreveport, take Exit 11
South onto SR-3132 (Inner Loop Expy). Continue until you reach the US-171 South exit and turn right.
Continue on, taking care to remain on 171 as you pass through Mansfield. Approximately 85 miles south of
Mansfield, turn left (east) onto SR-10 (Pitkin Hwy). Proceed approximately 17 miles to Cravens and turn left
(north) onto Gravel Hill Church Road.
- ALL - Once heading north on Gravel Hill Church Road, continue straight until it turns to dirt and simply becomes
"Pit Road". It is 2.8 miles from SR-10 to the riding area entrance on the right.
What to Expect:

The more time you spend feeling out prospective companies styles and personalities, the happier you'll be with whichever Link Building company you choose The riding area is a long abandoned gravel pit located on the southern edge of the Fort Polk Wildlife Management Area and
the Fort Polk Military Reservation. The parking area is dirt, flat, and accessible for vehicles pulling
trailers. No riding permits are required and overnight camping is allowed. Water remains in the center of the
pit and is surrounded on the edges by eroded pit walls, huge dirt mounds, ravines, washouts, and crisscrossing trails.
The area is perfect for the trials rider of any skill level to practice and play. Rain typically makes this area
better as the water soaks in fast and traction increases in the loose soil. No restroom facilities or provisions are
available.
