The Texas State Trials Council is pleased to announce the 31st Annual Texas State Trials Championship. The 2007 series has only one event each month; the events are spread out from January to May, hoping that this will encourage better attendance for the 2007 Series! We’ve also added a couple of new classes (without adding any new lines…) to give more riders the opportunity to find the class that has the right level of difficulty for them. Adding the Advanced class gives our younger up and coming riders a class that bridges the gap between Intermediate and Expert; it also aligns our series with the USMTA class guidelines.
  • Rounds 1/2 - January 27th & 28th – CTTA at Emma Long City Park, Austin – Don Hubbard
  • Rounds 3/4 - February 24th & 25th – NTTA at Red River Cycle Park, Muenster – Tom Batchelor
  • Rounds 5/6 – March 24th & 25th – STTA at Rio Bravo, Houston – Kim McCandless
  • Rounds 7/8 – April 28th & 29th – TOTTA at Lake Mackenzie Park, Silverton – Quint Anderson
  • Round 9 – May 19th – NTTA at Red River Cycle Park, Muenster – Tom Batchelor

  • All classes will count the best 6 of 9 rounds toward State Championship points! (Half of the rounds, plus one)
  • The AM Frock Award will be named the "David Irlanda Memorial Frock Award" in the memory of David Irlanda
  • Senior PM –to riders over 40 years of age; rides the Intermediate line
  • Advanced class –to all riders; rides half of the Intermediate lines & half Expert
  • Each split will be indicated by 2 markers – one on the left and one on the right 4’ apart.  Riders may only ride through the splits for their class; you may not pass through any other gate.  You may not pass through any gate backwards, as per NATC rules
  • Awards for each event will be standardized with medallions displaying each club’s logo
  • The Amateur line must be built for the rider that is moving up from Novice and looking for a somewhat greater challenge.  It must not be built for the Senior or Veteran rider!  If the Senior or Veteran rider wants a greater challenge, he should ride Senior PM.
  • Fees remain the same as in ’06 ($20 pre-entry, $25 day of event), plus any additional fees, i.e. land use and/or insurance.
  • AMA Membership is required for ALL classes competing in the CTTA Round @ Emma Long Park in Austin. You may sign up for the AMA at this event.
  • Discounts for families/children remain in place.
  • Out of State riders may earn State Championship points, but they must declare their intent to compete in the Championship Series.

NewsThe good news is that there is a great alternative from Foxit Software.  Their FREE Foxit Reader software is just slightly less than a 1Mb download.  In addition, it does not have to be "installed" on your computer, as it just runs as a simple .exe file.  After first hearing of the tool in a PCWORLD Magazine article, I have been using it a home, and work, for the past several months.  The small file size means that it loads up quick, and you don't have to endure Adobe's splash screen every time you start up your reader!
